We are happy to share with you our passion and devotion for building performance sailing yachts. Salona performance cruisers have been built since 2002, following the spirit of yachtsmen looking for reliable, well-built sailing boats that would match the racing performance of the best cruiser racers on the market, while providing comfortable cruising abilities.

Since 2008, Salona Yachts (more), together with our Maestral ribs (more) that have been produced over 35 years, have been an important part of the growing nautical business of the Prevent Group of companies. Prevent is multinational German company with over 12000 employees and more than 35 production facilities worldwide. It is a major global supplier to the car industry whose customers include Porsche, Audi, and Volkswagen.

The major achievements of the shipyard have not been accomplished by chance. Croatia's long Croatian shipbuilding tradition dating from ancient times has enabled Salona to acquire know-how in design, project management and skilled labor force. The technological level of boat building in the Salona yard is a logical consequence of this tradition – i.e. the use of advanced composite materials, such as epoxy based vinyl ester resins, and in-house, computer-assisted production that is carried out in our modern facilities in the vicinity of Split, Croatia.

Total production area consists of 6,000 square meters with three production lines and with the water testing just some hundred meters from the yard.

The manufacture of the Salona 45 model shortly followed production of the Salona 40 and the Salona 37. In 2007, it was the first model to win the prestigious European Yacht of the Year award.

Also in 2007, the Salona 42 was introduced; introduction of the Salona 34 followed in 2008, when it was nominated for European Yacht of the Year. As a result of our wide and valuable experience, the Salona 44 appeared in October 2009, becoming one of the most recognizable new boats on the market.

Quality

We are proud of our uncompromising approach to quality and product safety. From the beginning, our yard has been dedicated to getting every detail right, aiming for perfection. We have evolved over the years, for example, switching from high quality hand-laid GRP production of hulls and decks to fully implemented vacuum-assisted infusion in combination with advanced resins and fiber glass. We combine the with a stainless steel frame that supports the keel, mast and shrouds, giving our boats extremely strong but light displacement – and at Salona we lead the way in this technology.

Performance

For everyone who loves sailing, performance is the key. Whether cruising or racing, good performance makes a difference. It is no coincidence, therefore, that one of the most recognized characteristics of Salona yachts is their amazing performance.

Comfort

We sail for pleasure. We take the rough with the smooth, but whatever we have to face we do so in safety and comfort. We have carefully designed our boats for use as family cruisers, with young children in mind, and for serious offshore or international racing, with winning in mind. Salona is a product of its Mediterranean origins and of the outdoor lifestyle. Internally, our boats provide airy living spaces and sumptuous accommodation in the cabins, saloon and heads, while externally, the cockpit and generous sunbathing areas make on-board living a joy. Such luxuries are not enough, however, so our boats are also designed for heavy weather sailing – with exterior protected areas to keep the storms at bay and you on board as practically as possible.
