Croatia is indeed a unique country, not only for its crystal clear blue sea and natural beauties specific for its ideal Mediterranean climate, but also for thousand years of different cultures intersecting and assimilating in these areas, leaving behind numerous valuable and well preserved monuments.
The gulf in the Mediterranean, cut deep into the Continent of Europe, Adriatic Sea represented not only the most economical trade route between Europe and the East, but also the cradle of ancient civilizations. There is much material evidence coming to light today, surfacing from the depths of the Adriatic caves and from the deep blue sea.
The east coast of the Adriatic Sea was inhabited as early as the beginning of the Stone Age, whereas numerous archaeological findings discover the existence of early Greek colonies, such as Pharos (today’s Starigrad on the island of Hvar) and Issa (Vis).
Aside from the rich cultural heritage, diverse natural resources and attractions characterize the Adriatic. The coastal region holds a special place, and is therefore protected through the systematic policy of nature preservation and urban planning.
The quality of the water in the Adriatic is very well preserved, yet another important quality of the coastal area is its biological and geographical particular quality, visible in diverse and plentiful animal and plant life and fascinating endemic species, such as human fish. In order to protect and preserve such natural wealth, a list of rare and endangered species, the so called Red Book, has been made.

ocal traditions and customs, such as a traditional donkey race held each year in Tribunje, or Moreska knights, a traditional dance from Korcula.
Croatia assumes the place as one of the top tourist destination, not only for its natural beauties and rich cultural heritage, but also for the high level of safety which provide its guests with the warm feeling of welcomeness.
For every true sea lover, being on sailing yacht, motor boat, gullet, mega or luxury yacht, Croatia is certainly a must visit destination.
